As I already mentioned in my previous blog, I have different skills I would like to improve as an audio engineer. For me there are three main aspects that I would like to develop further. These are: mastering, recording and getting comfortable with the mixing desks. For each aspect there are different ways to get there. For mastering its essential to me that I get more theoritcal thechnical knowledge. Thing like dittering and different ways of compression. When it comes to the last two aspects I mentioned, its comes down to making more studio hours. More studio hours means more practice and more practice makes me more comfortable in the studio. My goal is to become a top producer who has knowledge of audio across the board. And I'm confinced that all these aspects combined can make one.

To be able to improve as an audio engineer its essential to know what your strengths and weaknesses are. For me personally its the more techincal side of the audio process that I'm most comfortable with. I spend a few years mixing music so I think I know what to look for in a mix to get a quality mix. While doing this I developed a good ear which can identify what sound 'right' or 'wrong'. While what sounds 'wrong' or 'right' is really subjective there are still certain rules that apply. Knowing these 'rules' can give you a better mix. Though I have still alot to learn I think this aspect of audio I know best. In the upcoming modules I want to dive deeper in the process of mastering music For my weaknesses, I think there are several. First I want to become more comfortable with the inline mixing consoles. I'm still not really comfortable with the workflow of an inline mixing console. With extra studio hours I think this should be acco...

I still have much to learn. Currently I'm working on developing my skils further as an audio engineer. These first months at SAE I learned to control the desk and to make a recording in the studio. I realise that these skills are vital as an audio engineer. Furthermore I learned alot about the theoretical side of audio. This theoretical knowledge gives me a better insight on how audio exactly works. For example, how sounds act in different envoirements is something essential I learned so far. This kind of knowledge gets me closer to reaching my goal as I described in my previous blog. The information and skills I learned so far combine really well with the skills I already had. I am now more aware of certain mixing techniques that incorperate knowledge of space. An example of this is: a longer predelay on a reverb brings the input sound more upfront. My name is Lennart and I would like you to give you a perspective into my aspirations and goals as an audio engineer. My passion for audio arises from a deep love for music. I have a broad interest in different music genres. I've been interested in the art of music all my life. I love to listen to all kinds of different genres like: pop, rock, hip hop and much more. But Electronic Dance Music(EDM) and especially Drum and Bass, is where my real passion lies. When I first came in touch with this music it instantly changed me as a person and shaped me to the person I am today. This passion is what drives me to make an impact in the creative industry.
